CND Shellac Videos

This page collects videos of CND Shellac in action. Shellac is CND's gel polish, worn like nail polish but cured under a lamp, and these clips show how it looks and behaves on real nails.

Watch the CND Shellac Video for the product itself, then see it used for nail art in Glitter Faded Nails and 4th of July Nails.

How CND Shellac is applied

CND Shellac nail polish is a gel polish system with three parts made to work together. Each layer is cured under a CND lamp before the next one goes on.

  • CND Shellac base coat: one thin layer on a clean, dry nail, then cured.
  • Color: two thin coats, each cured. Sheer shades such as Romantique give a soft, natural finish, while brights and glitters carry nail art.
  • CND Shellac top coat: a final cured layer, after which the slightly tacky residue is wiped away.

Because every layer is cured, Shellac is dry when you leave the table, which makes it a popular base for nail art like the designs in these videos.

Removing Shellac

Shellac comes off by soaking rather than peeling. Salons use an acetone remover with CND Shellac remover wraps, which hold the remover against each nail for several minutes until the color can be eased off with a wooden stick.
