About This Manicure

Today was a perfect day, here in Michigan, so I wanted to do a fun, colorful, Springy manicure. I grabbed two Essie nail polishes that I just purchased, Mojito Madness and Splash of Grenadine, and went to work. I knew I wanted to do something with mixed patterns and that one of those had to be polka dots. I just love polka dot nail art!

For the polka dot nails, I used a base of NYC French White Tip and then used two different sized dotting tools to make "polka dot stripes." On my thumb I did some color blocking. Again, I used French White tip as a base and then, when dry, used striping tape to section off my nails. I used a nail art brush to color in the blocks and then removed the tape. I topped everything off with Seche Vite to protect my design and add lots of shine!

I just discovered polishpedia and I love! i’m always looking for new inspirations! Super cute mani! I am diggin’ your work! I’m going to try color blocking. I keep avoiding it 🙂 Hope I don’t offend you here, but you look so much like someone I used to know back in my youthful days…her name was Carolyn lol! I guess everyone has a twin! Keep up your great work!

Thanks, Sandra! Definitely try color blocking. It’s much easier than it looks. Also, Carolyn is my middle name!

Coincidence right?! I’m in the Ft Campbell KY area…Know anyone there? I will try color blocking once I get off of my water marble kick! Do you have a tutorial somewhere? Or I suppose I can check You Tube…I’ve never been good at coloring inside the lines lol!
