Christmas is sweet! For many, Christmas is their favorite time of year. For me, this is definitely true.
The sweetness of Christmas is a combination of many different things. I have compiled a short list of of just seven. They are family, remembering Him, giving presents, receiving presents, Christmas songs, loving others, and last but not least is Christmas candy! This last one inspired this peppermint candy nail art.
Peppermint candy is extremely abundant during the holidays. They are everywhere...well not literally everywhere but they really are all over. My favorite place to find them is in my mouth but I can't seem to stop from chomping on them and needing another. Who else has a hard time sucking on candy without quickly chewing it up? Ok, enough about the candy itself, let's get back to this Christmas nail art.
Tips For Doing Peppermint Candy Nails
My first tip for anybody who wants to attempt to do Peppermint nails is to not worry about them being hard, this is an extremely easy design. You can make it more complicated but you don't have to.
Second, if you don't have a thin nail art brush I recommend getting one or cutting an old nail polish brush down until it is thin. If you do this, you basically have created your own nail striper.
Third, don't worry about getting nail polish on your skin. It is really easy to remove. You can clean your skin up afterwards with an orange wood stick, your own fingernail, a cotton ball, or a q-tip. If it doesn't come up right away, then you can use acetone or nail polish remover.
Different Ways To Do Peppermint Candy Nails
With all of my designs I would love to have you do them on your own nails (if you decide to give me credit, then thanks but if not, no worry). I also really love it when I see my designs changed and made even better and that is when I am amazed at how creative you all are!
Here is a basic list of some other ways to do Peppermint candy nail art.
1st: You can paint all of the nails with a peppermint candy design.
2nd: Instead of making the entire nail the peppermint candy you can paint on a big circle and do the design. On top of that you can paint a wrapper around it (for the wrapper you will have to get creative).
3rd: You can add some sparkle and shimmer to the candies by using a glitter polish. I think the best glitter colors would be silver or blue or pink...
4th: You could have multiple peppermint candies on one nail and each candy is a little bigger than the other.
5th: Do a peppermint candy french tip on all of the nails or on just the ones other than the accent nail.

Hi Jocelyn,
After you did the super-cute cheetah print on my nails for Thanksgiving, I’ve been hooked on your site. 🙂 I saw how cute and easy these nails were/are, and they are now my official Christmas nail! Thanks so much. 🙂 I put a silver sparkle polish over the white parts of the mint, and it looks really cool.
Thanks so much for becoming a fan of the site! I am glad that you loved your cheetah print nails. I bet the sparkle over the white looked great! Do you have any pictures of them online anywhere?
