Chevron Accent Nails
How To Do Chevron Nails
If you haven’t already noticed, I really love accent nail designs. I think that creating nail art just on an accent nail really stands out and is a simple way to create amazingly cute nails without a lot of work.
On top of the fact that I love accent nails I also have fallen in love with Chevron Nails! Who hasn’t, right?
Chevron Nails are a nail art technique where a specific (usually zig zag) pattern is used repeatedly down or across the nail. This pattern splits the nail up into similar (usually identical) sections. Each section is often painted a different color.
The method of achieving this look is not limited to just one. In fact my Chevron Accent Nails video shows just one method of achieving the Chevron look.
One of the other ways to do a Chevron nail design is to use scotch tape. The scotch tape is cut out into similar strips. The strips can be straight or have a zig zag pattern. After all the pieces are cut out and the base color is painted onto the nails then all one has to do is lay the pieces in their desired places on the nails (much like I did in the video).
A variation of this technique is to paint the scotch tape before cutting and let it dry. After the polish has dried you can cut the scotch tape into patterns and then place them on the nails. This way you never have to peel the scotch tape off of your nails.
Whatever way you decide to create your own custom Chevron Nail Art design I hope that this video tutorial helped you. If you have any questions that didn’t receive answers in the video, please ask them using the comment form below.

Hi! Where did you find the stickers for the chevron pattern? Who makes them? What are they called?
Thanks!
What nail polish did you use and can you make video for how to keep your nail polish from clumping?
Hi Kim,
In the sidebar you will be able to see exactly what nail polish I used. We have this feature in the sidebar of each of our nail art video posts.
All nail polish will eventually clump. The best way to make your nail polish last the longest possible is to keep it out of light and to put the cap back on when you are done using it.
Hopefully I have answered your questions but if not please let me know. I am always ready to help out!
