Hello ladies. The first time I used shellac myself I had the same problem, my nails were very sticky. I looked it up online and it said to use rubbing alcohol after you’ve applied your last and final coat of shellac, so I rummaged through my cupboards and found a bottle of gin. I poured a drop onto a lint cloth and I rubbed over my nails – that seemed to did the trick but the correct alcohol you should use is isopropanol alcohol which you can buy online (I brought mine from amazon) and since using that it’s not been sticky at all. I hope this helps!

    Hello,

I’d like to take a shellac nail system with me as I’m moving to Saudi Arabia and will be away from anywhere to get my nails done. The problem is in Saudi Arabia you can not bring in or buy alcohol, or any products that contain alcohol (of any kind) and in the shellac process it says that you need it. Are there other things that can clean/prep the nail, and get rid of the stickiness after the top coat and final curing other than alcohol (or products that contain alcohol)? I’d really appreciate help with this.
    Thanks

Did you read the instructions or watch the video. It says to use alcohol with cotton ball at the end to remove the stickyness.

Hi, I wonder if you can help. I bought all the correct items for doing Shellac Nails. I filed them, pushed cuticles back, rubbed the scrub on them, applied the base coat thinly and dried them under the UV lamp for 2 mins. They were very sticky so I used the UV lamp again for another 2 mins – still sticky so I put them under the lamp again and still sticky. So I decided just apply the Shellac nail polish anyway and they were still sticky after using the Lamp about 6 more times. I applied the top coat and they never did dry. When I got up the next morning they were covered in fluff and it just started to peel off and they were still sticky to the touch!!! What am I doing wrong? Hope you can help as I’m at my witts end now after having tried over and over again!!! Thank you Desperate Christine.
