How To Do a Shellac French Manicure

P.E.P

    1. Perform a dry manicure. Remove all the cuticle.
    2. Eliminate the contaminants left over from the dry manicure. Make sure there is nothing on the nail.
    3. Purify nail layers with Scrub Fresh. This is the final step in the P.E.P process. This process does not require a shine removal.
    4. Apply a thin layer of shellac uv base coat. Once the coat is applied it will be cured for 10 seconds.
    5. After the base coat is cured apply a layer of sheer pink coat on the nail and nail edge. After applied cure the nails for 2 minutes.
    6. Apply a second layer of sheer pink coat and cure for 2 minutes.
    7. Now use the shellac cream puff color to create the white tip. As easy as two shellac strokes. Make sure to always go thin with the coats.

You don’t want it to wrinkle during the uv curing process. After the tip is the way you want it you can cure it for 2 minutes.

  1. After you have cured the last step you need to seal each nail with the shellac uv top coat. Make sure it is not too thick. Once the top coat is on you will cure it for the final time. 2 minutes.
  2. The final step is to use 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove the top film. If this is not done, then the nail will be sticky and we don’t want that.
  3. To condition the cuticle apply solar oil to each nail.
* These manicures are 50% more than regular shellac manicures.

I noted that you indicate bulbs could be old and need replacement for a couple of CND shellac problems. About how many use hours do bulbs last before needing replacement?

shellac is produced by the scale insect to protect the offspring. the scale insect covers the branch where it sits with the secretion. in the “harvest” the branches get pulverized with the insects sitting on them because shellac is also inside them. for every kilogramm of shellac 300 000 scal insects die…then they are on the nails….

      Lisa,
      So… I have bug nails?

      Cool.

They’re not killing kittens for my manicures, they’re killing bugs. Trust me, they’ll multiply.

One more question, if I’m not using any color, after I cure my base coat the nail will be tacky correct? How and with what would be the best way to correct any mistakes I might do when making the white tip?
    Thanks!

      Vicki,

Yes, just like a regular Shellac Manicure it will remain sticky until the end when you wipe each nail with rubbing alcohol.

I use an orange wood stick dipped in nail polish remover.

P.S. I would love to see your work. Do you post it anywhere online?
