Color Changing Nails

I have a few nail polishes from the Funky Fingers Solar Collection. They are colors that change in reaction to sunlight. I hadn't used any of them yet, so today I decided to do a manicure including one of them. I already had my nails painted so, to give my nails a break from the nail polish remover, I just did a fun scotch tape manicure on top of my nail color.

What Products I Used

1. Pure Ice Saddle Me Up
2. Funky Fingers Partly Cloudy
3. Sally Hansen Black Out
4. Scotch tape
5. Seche Vite

This design was super simple. Since my nails were already painted with Saddle Me Up, I didn't have to wait for the base color to dry. I taped off the tips diagonally and painted them using Black Out. I immediately removed the tape and waited for them to dry completely. Afterwards, I taped off another diagonal section and painted it using Partly Cloudy.  I topped everything off with Seche Vite.

The photo on the left is indoors. The photo on the right is outdoors, in direct sunlight after about 45 seconds. As you can see, the sunlight turns the polish from a bright teal to a lovely dark purple/gray. If you are curious whether or not the top coat alters the color changing effect.

website is awesome for a variety of ideas. I have always been a nail freak. I do my nails daily to match outfits and it was always one color with some glitter. Now I got all fun stuff going on. Thanks

Isn’t experimenting with your nails great? It makes it hard to go back to just boring old solid colors.
